The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is found in 1861 and is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. It has five schools and one college, containing a total of 32 academic departments that strongly focus on scientific, engineering and technological education and research. The official seal of MIT was engraved in Philadelphia in November 1865.
