Marine Corp Official Emblem

The United States Marine Corp official emblem is the Eagle, the Globe and the Anchor. The history of the emblem has a direct connection to the history of the Corp itself.

The Marine Corp Emblem contains a spread eagle. Originally, crested eagle was used, which is found around the globe. The eagle and the globe signify the marine’s service all around the world. It was later changed into an American Bald Eagle to add more patriotic meaning to the emblem, since the American bald Eagle is the symbol for US.

The Motto “Semper Fidelis” is held in the eagle’s beak which means Always Faithful. The motto of the Marines is very becoming since in history it is proven by the fact that there has never been a mutiny among U.S. Marines.

The foul-anchor ( a foul-anchor is an anchor which has one or more turns of the chain around it)in the emblem whose origin dates back to the founding of the Marine Corp in 1775 , acknowledges the naval tradition of the United States Marine .
