The Prop and Wings Plaque or propeller and wings is a military insignia used to identify various aviation-related units in the United States military. The Prop and Wings insignia is traditionally awarded to Academy cadets at the end of their grueling fourth-class (freshman) year, signifying that they have been recognized as upper class cadets. The standard insignia is chrome. However, a cadet is authorized to wear a gold Prop and Wings device if the cadet is a direct descendant of some in one or more designated classes of veterans.

The United States Air Force or USAF is the most recent of the entire branch in United States Army. It is also the largest and most technologically advanced.

The main mission of USAF is to FLY, FIGHT and WIN whether in air, space and cyberspace. Air Force personnel are also bound to its core values which are: Integrity first, Service before self and Excellence in all we do.

The purposes of the Air Force as defined by the Congress are:

To overcome any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperils the peace and security of the United States.

Trivia: Last July 25, Gen. Douglas M. Fraser of the US Air Force is the first Air Force officer to lead the U.S. Southern Command. Gen.Douglas M.Fraser is responsible in all the military operations in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Marine Corp Official Emblem

The United States Marine Corp official emblem is the Eagle, the Globe and the Anchor. The history of the emblem has a direct connection to the history of the Corp itself.

The Marine Corp Emblem contains a spread eagle. Originally, crested eagle was used, which is found around the globe. The eagle and the globe signify the marine’s service all around the world. It was later changed into an American Bald Eagle to add more patriotic meaning to the emblem, since the American bald Eagle is the symbol for US.
