Known to us as an intelligence-driven and a threat-focused national security and law enforcement organization, FBI’s core mission is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats with the aim of upholding and enforcing the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners.

In their list of priorities, the FBI focuses on threats that challenge the foundations of the country. The FBI supports states on crimes that local authorities cannot handle alone.

The Science and Technology branch, lead by Louis E. Grevner, is responsible for the discovery, development, and delivery of innovative, technically-enabled investigative and analytical capabilities. The primary mission of the branch is to facilitate the application of innovative scientific, engineering and technical solutions in support of intelligence and investigative requirements. The branch’s contribution to the modern developments of crime solving is astounding.

Heavily portrayed in films, the agency’s headquarters is located in the J. Edgar Hoover Building, located in Washington, D.C.. The FBI headquarters has fifty-six field office scattered in major cities throughout the United States. The Drug Enforcement Administration is under the US Department of Justice created to enforce the rules and regulations on controlled substances in the United States .

DEA’s primary responsibilities are : investigation and preparation of prosecution of violators of the controlled substance laws–both interstate and international levels, manages national drug intelligence program, seizure and forfeiture of assets from or is intended to be use on illegal drug operations, liaison with United Nations, interpol and other organizations on matters relating to international drug control programs.

Department of Toxic Substances Control Mission:

DTSC is a government agency of the state of California. DTSC cleans up thousands of hazardous waste sites in California including disposal sites and industrial sites that resulted in contamination of soil and groundwater. They protects future generations from the long term stewardship of hazardous substances through pollution prevention business assistance programs, and its new green chemistry mandate – to reduce use of toxic substances in everyday products used by California consumers.
