USS Barry DDG-52

USS Barry (DDG-52) is named after the “Father of the American Navy” — Commodore John Barry. The ship is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer which was commissioned in 1992.

As of 2008, Barry is one the three ships to have won the prestigious Battenberg Cup three times. (Battenberg Cup is given annually as a symbol of excellence to the best ship/submarine in the United States Navy Atlantic Fleet). In 2004 Barry also received the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy as being the most improved ship in the Atlantic Fleet.

USS Barry recently marked the centennial celebration of the Great White Fleet. Over 100 years ago the “Great White Fleet” made history; it made a 43,000 mile journey that included 20 port calls on six different continents that lasted from December 1907 until February 1909.

The USS Barry struck port in Malta, one of the locations that the historic Great White Fleet visited; this is to commemorate the anniversary of the historical event.

To recognize this great ship and the centennial celebration, acquire the USS Barry emblem. This is a great addition to your Naval Collection too! Order now!

Seal of the Vice President of the United States

The Seal of the Vice President of the United States is not as “popular” as the  Seal of the President but still equally important.

According to Executive Order 11884:

The Coat of Arms of the Vice President of the United States shall be of the following design:

SHIELD: Paleways of thirteen pieces argent and gules, a chief azure; upon the breast of an American eagle displayed holding in his dexter talon an olive branch proper and in his sinister a bundle of thirteen arrows gray, and in his beak a gray scroll inscribed “E PLURIBUS UNUM” sable.

CREST: Behind and above the eagle a radiating glory or, on which appears an arc of thirteen cloud puffs gray, and a constellation of thirteen mullets gray.

The Seal of the Vice President of the United States shall consist of the Coat of Arms encircled by the words “Vice President of the United States.”

The design of the Seal of the Vice President is almost the same as the Seal of the President, with a few differences.

  • There is no ring of stars
  • The clouds are gray
  • The stars are gray instead of ardent
  • The scroll is gray instead of white
  • The arrows are gray

The Vice President plays an important role. It includes being the spoke person for the administration’s policy, adviser to the President, Chairman of the Board of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He is also the nominal head of the Senate. Our Vice President is also a potential President in the future.
